What are you wearing? Potential Laundry

So, I'm sitting in the middle of the front room floor folding laundry and as soon as I get the mountain folded, the buzzer goes off for another round of fun-filled enjoyment. The thought went through my head that I WILL NEVER BE CAUGHT UP ON THE LAUNDRY... what we're wearing is potential laundry! YIKES!
I found myself thinking about the fairies... the laundry fairy... the dusting fairy... the dishes fairy... all the ones you don't want to "tick off" as my favorite sign suggests. (The shot gun shells are not a hint, I just put everything on that shelf that comes out of pockets before I do the laundry!)

My life has been so busy this summer with the temple, trek, the garden etc, etc, that I think the fairies are toast. Why, even one of those fairies wrote the kids a note, threatening to pile everything that they own in a big heap in the middle of their rooms as my mom did once when I was young. I got calls from each of the kids that day, wondering if I had really lost it and saying that they "promised" that their rooms would be clean by the end of the day.
Yoga in the Yard, Field Trips and Other Great Stuff!
I have really loved my calling in the Relief Society Presidency. I have gotten to know so many people and now call them my friends. Last week we did "Yoga in the Yard" and Sara, my Enrichment Leader taught us how to stike a pose! Tonight we went on a "Field Trip for Grown Ups". We went to the Alsett Cleaning Center to learn to "clean like a pro" and to the Bosch Center for some great tips on grinding our wheat and making bread. I loved their recipe for whole wheat bread using agave as a sweetener.
I started grinding my own wheat last summer when I got the "food storage bug". I have tried quite a few different recipes and this one tonight was the best I've tasted.

He Thinks My Tractor's Sexy!
What the heck... I THINK MY TRACTOR'S SEXY!!!
Robert got me a new tractor this year, it's got a cab and so it's nice and enclosed. No more dust and bugs and grasshoppers! I cut a field last night and it was so nice... radio.... air conditioning...I was livin' large!
Robert has been so busy this summer since we've taken on some extra ground. It's not super thick this year, but it will be very productive next year. He's very good at all the ground prep and takes his time to do it right. It took us some time to get the water in, the wheel lines were a nightmare.
I enjoyed pullling the hydra-swing with the new tractor, too. Robert said it's better for baling with because you can see on his a little better, but I LOVE the cab! Besides, Mr Poo Poo Head got to ride inside with me for while last night!

I Love to Blurb!
I just got my first book of my blog back from "Blurb"! It turned out so cute that I've decided to do 2009 in 2 parts. The site is so easy to work with and it "slurps" your blog into a book. I did make some changes by adding pictures and stuff, but I can't wait to finish this one.
So, 2009 starts now with book 3!

Trek 2009!
Jake and I got to go on Trek July 8-11. I was able to go as Medical and I loved it. Jake was a great pioneer and he had a great time and loved it, too. Jake's Ma and Pa were Steve and Tara Sansom from the Harvest Park 4th ward. He was in the red, white and blue family, the Patriotic Pioneers! He had a great family... I was so grateful for that.
Rocky Ridge... we camped here and had a great devotional that night. It is in the middle of South Pass so it was pretty cold, but the Spirit there was remarkable.

Jake's family was asked to reinact the portion of trek where the Pioneers wore rags on their feet because they didn't have shoes. They were really good sports about it and didn't complain at all.

Happy Fourth of July 2009!
We had the most awesome Fourth of July! We went to Race and Shelly's house in Dillon, Montana. They manage the LaCense ranch (I have a link under Anissa's Blog!) The ranch is 88,000 acres of some of the most beautiful country ever. Robert and I got to stay in one of the guest cabins. There were three cabins built to look like pioneer settler type homes. Very rustic, but with all the fluffy pillows of today!
Niner loved jumping into the canals, the rivers and this is him in the reservoir... cliff jumping. He would whine until he found his way in... we were all cheering and yelling for him. That dog just tugs at your heart. He became the "mascot" of the group and really is part "people".
Here's Jessi in front of the cabin with bunkbeds on one side and a queen bed on the other. The cabins are decorated so cute and rustic... lots of antiques.
This was one of the cabins with a buffalo hide over the bedspread. It was a really cute cabin that reminded us of Jeremiah Johnson.
This is where Robert and I stayed. Since it was our anniversary, it was the "Honeymoon Cabin"! The shower and sink was galvanized steel and a rain shower shower head with the kind of toilet that flushes with gravity. The whole atmosphere was so cool.
Niner snuck in once, so I had to take his picture... usually he slept outside on the deck (that is if he wasn't howling because we were inside and he wasn't!)

Race cooked us some genuine LaCense Montana steaks... VERY yummy. The ranch had one of Oprah's chef's out doing a spotlight on their beef. Race took some lessons and now is a gourmet chef! (along with his other duties!)
